Sweet Scoops Dazzling Card

Wow! How does life get so busy, that I run out of time to post? I just enjoyed a wonderful weekend with my hubby and boys. The weather was beautiful here in Ottawa so we spent lots of time at the park as well as getting some gardening done. Oh! I am so tempted to plant some flowers but I think it may be smart to wait another week or so. After all, we did get a little snow here last week!!!

On to some stamping… I have stamped quite a bit in the last little while.  Today I want to share the two cards that we made at my Sunflower Papercrafters team meeting last month. I love getting together with the girls so that we can share the projects that we have created.

We used some products from the new Summer mini catalogue. Have you seen it? It features some cool new products such as builder wheels and Smooch Spritz. Want a copy of your own? Email me your mailing address and I will put one in the mail for you today! (I can deliver anywhere in Canada!).

On the first card, we used this set that I earned for free from a challenge that was thrown to us at the Phoenix Regionals. It’s called Sweet Scoops. Is this not just darling!?

Supplies
Stamps: Sweet Scoops
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, So Saffron
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink,
Accessories: Hugs*, Dimensionals, Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, 2 way glue pen.
*Occasions mini item: no longer available for order

The second card, we made using stencils. These are great for making quick and beautiful cards. Plus, they are inexpensive too! You can find this stencil set called Elegant Décor Trio Stencil (#118262) in the Definitely Decorative brochure. There are three stencils for $12.95!

This card was inspired by a card that CEO Shelli Gardiner made, at my fellow demonstrator and friend, Kim’s Workshop of a Lifetime. You can see here card HERE.

Supplies
Stamps: Define your life
Ink: Close to cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Ivory naturals
Paper: Chocolate Chip Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Distress tool, Color Spritzer, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, stampin’ sponges, button latte,
Elegant Trio Décor Stencils

My Sunflower Papercrafters meet every month – you can join us too! Become a demonstrator before the end of May and receive two FREE technique DVDs (2007-2008 and 2008-2009 Workshop Wow DVDs)! Not to mention the discount on great products and the opportunity to earn money doing what you love! There are 2 great starter kits. Ask me for more information!

Stampin' Up! Retiring Colors: Important News Update

Stampin' Up! Retiring Colors NEWS UPDATE:
(Please read carefully if you need to order retiring color products)

IMPORTANT DATES:
June 1 - Retiring colors available only “while supplies last”
June 1 - Last Chance list of stamp sets and accessories will be available
June 30 - Last day to order any retiring product (if not out-of-stock)

With Stampin’ Up!’s recent Color Renovation announcement, we have experienced a spike–much greater than anticipated–in demand for some of our retiring colors. Even with the most careful planning and all of the company’s forecasts from previous color transitions and current buying behaviors, the demand was greatly underestimated.

For re-inkers in retiring colors, as we run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as we receive the product. We will continue to do this to the best of our ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available while supplies last in June.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, and because of this, textured paper may be substituted for some of the smooth colors–including card stock in 8-1/2″ x 11″ as well as 12″ x 12″–where the smooth is no longer available. You will notice these colors go on backorder, and we will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each color varies, we are unable to provide a list of what colors of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change.

Stampin' Up! Colors to be Retiring on July 1st
Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal, Ballet Blue, Barely Banana, Blush Blossom, Bordering Blue, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue, Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Gable Green, Glorious Green, Going Gray, Green Galore, Handsome Hunter, Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss, Only Orange, Orchid Opulence, Pale Plum, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, Taken with Teal, YoYo Yellow.

We realize that this is an extraordinary situation, and we hope this will help you get retiring colors for as long as possible. Please keep in mind that an instance may arise where we are unable to fill orders on a specific product, and it will become unavailable before the end of May, but those cases should be minimal, and Stampin Up will communicate those situations as they may arise.

Thank you for your patience!

All a Flutter swap card

When I went to Phoenix for the Leadership Convention in January, I was lucky enough to experience it with a fantastic group of demonstrators that are my sidelines.  My stamping sisters, if you would like :)
We decided, in order to keep in touch and share our craft, (since we don't all live in the same city, or province for that matter) that we would organize a swap whenever a new Stampin' Up! catalogue would come out.  Here is the card that I made for them:

Supplies
Stamps: All a Flutter, En Francais
Ink: More Mustard classic ink, Dusty Durango classic ink, Sahara Sand classic ink, Basic Black craft ink
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, More Mustard, Basic Black,
Designer Paper: Presto Patterns, Autumn Traditions
Accessories: Distress tool, Stampin' sponges, Basic Black satin ribbon, 3/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, corner tag punch, Hodge Podge harware in Very Vanilla,

I used the All a Flutter single stamp on page 31 of the Summer mini catalogue.  (Click HERE to download the catalogue pdf. file!).

I saw a card made by Sandi MacIver a couple months back with a tag on the front of the card.  I saved it in my favorites so that I could CASE it at some point.  My card is very similar except that I used different colors and stamps.

The cardstock from the tag is actually the new Presto Patterns Designer Paper.  I LOVE this paper!!! So many possibilities!!!  The image is already on the paper but the paper is white so you can use a sponge, or brayer with the color of your choice to make the image "pop" out.  The best way to explain it is that it's as if the images on the paper were embossed with clear ink.  If that makes any sense!?  On my tag, I brought out the pattern from the Presto Patterns paper by sponging with More Mustard and Dusty Durango.  Have a closer look here...

The butterfly image was inked in Basic Black Craft ink and then embossed with clear powder.
I couldn't decide whether I wanted to color the butterfly in or not.  I ended up not coloring it on my swap cards but did make one for myself.  Here it is...

So what are your thoughts!?  To color or not to color!?
Leave me a comment.  I would love to hear from you!

Happy stamping,
