Friend to Friend card

Just a quick post today!

I made this card during the summer while preparing for my Open House.  It uses some of SU! new fabulous In Colors.  I am always drawn more to blues and browns so, with this card, I challenged myself by using colors that I wouldn't usually use.

Here is the card with the color combo: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

The dragonfly is from the Asian Artistry Hostess level 2 stamp set.

And the polka dot background !? Take a guess!

Some of you will certainly relate to this...   I pretty much keep all of my scraps, so when I cut out a bunch of daisies with the Big Shot, it left me with all these polka dots that were the "centers".  I set them aside in a container thinking I could find a use for them.  Well here it is...my own custom designer paper! lol

Stamps: Asian Artistry (Hostess level2), Teeny Tiny Wishes(115370)
Ink: Stazon Black (101406)
Cardstock: Textured Melon Mambo (115719), Rich Razzleberry (115316), Textured Crushed Curry (115719), Whisper White (100730)
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch (109047), 1 1/4" Circle Punch (104403), 1 3/8" Circle Punch (104401), Crushed Curry Grosgrain Polka Dot ribbon (115614), Stampin' markers in Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry (116329), Dimensionals (104430), 2 way Glue Pen (100425)

Holiday Mini Swap Cards

Today I finally have some cards to share with you after being MIA for a while.  It was a pretty busy summer but a great one!  Although I did get to stamp quite a bit, I ran out of time when it came to taking pictures and posting them.  I will have to catch up so stay tuned for lots of card samples.  Now, I just have to find some time to do some scrapbooking with all the beautiful pictures we took during the summer!

Ok... on to other things!
In August, I signed up for a Holiday Mini Catalogue swap organized by Sherida, a fellow demonstrator.  As soon as I looked through the mini catalogue and saw the Delightful Decorations (116517) stamp set, with matching ornament punch, I HAD to have it!!! So that is the stamp set that I used for my swap cards.

For the first card, I used Kraft, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay color combination.  The Designer series Paper is from the new mini and it's called Christmas Cocoa Specialty (116770).  I also played with the new Frost White shimmer paint (116854).  I first inked my ornament stamp in Bermuda Bay and then with a dauber, applied some shimmer paint directly on the stamp before stamping it. The ribbon is the polka dot grosgrain ribbon.  I LOVE that it's polka-dot on one side and plain on the other!

SUPPLIES
Stamp set: Delightful Decorations, Quatuor des Fêtes
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
DSP: Christmas Cocoa Specialty
Accessories: Ornament Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Frost White shimmer paint, 1/2" Bermuda Bay Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon

The second card has a very classy look to it! I also used some paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series.  I love this paper!  It's got a velvet-y feel to it!

This time I tried something diferent with the shimmer paint.  I used a paintbrush to apply the shimmer paint directly on my stamp, then stamped it on Real Red before punching it out witht the new Ornament Punch (116794).  Again, the sentiment is from the Quatuor des Fêtes (117643) set that is available in French, English and Spanish.

I used 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon to "hang it" and to add a little bow to the ornament.  It was then mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here is a closer look at the shimmer paint;

Don't you just love that stamp set!?! Leave me a comment and let me know what is favorite product in the holiday mini catalogue.

Will I receive support and training as a demonstrator?

By joining, you will become part of my team, and I’ll provide you with all the help and support you need to achieve your personal goal. I will never push or pressure you to do more than you desire. Whether your goals are big or small, I am here to help! I maintain a password protected team website with business resources and on top of that, Stampin’ Up! provides the following:
■A 24/7 demonstrator website for demonstrator resources and online ordering

■A full colour monthly magazine with creative and business ideas just for demonstrators

■A beautiful and affordable company sponsored demonstrator business website you can set up in minutes

■An achievable incentive program for income and awards if you choose to aspire to them

How will I make money as a demonstrator?
Since customers pay you directly, you will keep 20% of each order placed at the time of their payment. You can earn additional income (up to 40%) through volume rebates when your monthly sales are over $600. If you build a team, you can also earn monthly downline overrides.

Do people really make money at this?
YES!! Depending on how much time you want to put into “your” business, you can make whatever income you desire! It is totally up to you!

Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?
Of course not!! Having a downline is not a requirement, it is a perk – we have the opportunity to earn a commission based on our downline’s sales and on top of that make a ton of great new friends through stamping!

What if I only want to do this as a hobby? Do I still have to do workshops?
Absolutely not!! Stampin’ Up! supports the hobby demonstrator just like the career demonstrator. You can put in your own order or collect orders from family & friends that equal $400 a quarter.

What are the minimum sales requirements?
To stay active as a demonstrator you will need to sell a minimum of $400 per quarter. Most demonstrators find that this goal can be reached in one or two workshops per quarter–or with their own purchases.

Do I have to stock product?
No. You will only order items when someone places an order and pays you in advance, so you won’t need to keep inventory of products.

How much does it cost to get started?
The Starter Kit is only $249 plus pst. This kit is customizable (choose your own sets at stated price points and you may change some accessory colors) for a total of $410 in product for only $249. It includes everything you will need to get your business up and running—including stamps and accessories as well as business supplies.  Stampin' Up! often has promotions on the Starter Kit as well!!!

What kind of incentives will I receive as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?
There are so many perks with this business that I don’t know where to start! Here are just a few for new demonstrators offered from Stampin’ Up!
■As a new demonstrator, you have an opportunity to earn up to 9 FREE stamps sets of any value, from the catalogue in your first 6 months.

■30% commission on your first workshop order of $200 or more, if you place it within 60 days of signing up.

■The opportunity to earn new stamp sets during “Sell-a-Bration.”

■The ability to be your own “hostess” and earn free hostess sets and merchandise on your own personal orders

■You can earn logo and product items each quarter depending on your sales.

■Every year you can earn a 7 day cruise for 2!!!! and much, much more………..

Where do I get ideas for my workshops?
Stampin’ Up! has many resources for demonstrators, including the Idea Book & Catalogue, a great monthly magazine, a fantastic website for demonstrators only, a wonderful video in the starter kit, and much more. I also post my workshop cards on our team website and yahoo group. It is more than OKAY to copy projects from these resources—that is what they are for! You don’t have to ever think of an original idea if you don’t want to.

Do I have to attend meetings?
Not if you don’t want to! There is always something going on our team website which include a combination of business and stamping events which are completely optional, but a lot of fun if you choose to come!

Are there any Stampin’ Up! events that I can attend as a new demonstrator?
Yes, and they are a blast! Every year in July/August there is the annual Stampin’ Up! convention. Imagine several thousand crazy stampers in one place for 4 days! There are also regional training events throughout the country each year, and local events organized BY Stampin’ Up! demonstrators FOR Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  For Leaders, SU hosts a Leadership Convention in January of each year.  I was lucky to have attended in January 2010 in Phoenix and have to say that it was truly a wonderful experience!

Do you really love what you do?
I really, really do. Stampin’ Up! offers me all the resources to be creative on my own terms and to create personalized projects for my family and friends that make me proud and happy to have something I can share with them from my heart. On top of that, I earn extra income on the side and can be flexible enough with my business so that it fits my schedule allowing me more time with family and friends. I really, really love and enjoy what I do and I hope you will too!
